Joey's Tenterfield 'Footy Fun Day'

On Wednesday 22nd of June, St Josephs Tenterfield held a Footy Fun Day to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. This day was chosen to coincide with the second State of Origin game which has always been a contentious issue at Tenterfield as the school has many students who were born in QLD.

The students dressed in their team colours and either brought a gold coin donation or an item of winter clothing or blanket to donate to the Appeal. The Mini-Vinnies students ran many fun activities for the students to participate in. These activities were set up in a circuit around the school and student groups had about ten minutes per activity.

Some of these activities were throwing the footy through the target, shooting hoops with the footy, Newcombe tennis using a football, kickball ( baseball without the bat and kicking the ball instead). The students faces were also painted in team colours by a professional make up artist.

A fantastic day was had by all.
